LAND OFF WOLVERHAMPTON ROAD, CHESLYN HAY

Family-owned Cameron Homes seeks your views on proposals for residential development on land east of Wolverhampton Road, Cheslyn Hay.

The site is currently open grassland extending to approximately 2.4 hectares.

The site is located on the south western edge of the village of Cheslyn Hay. Existing properties are located to the east with the northern boundary defined in part by residential properties as well as a cemetery. Wolverhampton Road lies to the north west of the site and to the south is Campions Wood Quarry.

There are a number of constraints to consider as part of the development:

• Hedgerows and hedgerow trees are located along all of the site’s boundaries.
• The amenity of existing residents adjacent to the site, including residences along Wolverhampton Road, Cemetery Street and Pinfold Lane.
• Proximity to neighbouring quarry site.

There are a number of opportunities present as follows:

• Access can be achieved from Wolverhampton Road which provides access to public transport
• The majority of existing hedgerows can be retained and strengthened.
• Provision of a range of homes to meet local and District’s needs.
• Provision of affordable housing and homes for older persons.
• Delivery of new publicly accessible open spaces can be provided as well as an area of play (LEAP) within the site
• Opportunity to deliver biodiversity enhancements through the creation of new habitats and green spaces.
